Severe weather 'marathon' begins for Central US, as large hail, tornadoes threaten the Plains Thursday

Severe thunderstorms, some capable of producing tornadoes, are threatening a corridor that spans more than 1,000 miles from Minnesota to Texas — the opening act of a multiday pattern that's expected to produce at least five consecutive days of damaging storms for the Heartland.
