Lava seen soaring from Kilauea’s latest eruption
Kīlauea Volcano’s Halemaʻumaʻu crater began erupting again on Wednesday, with lava fountains reaching more than 1,000 feet in the air. The eruption is said to be part of an ongoing series of events since December 2024, according to the the Hawaiian Volcano Observatory. With any eruption, hazards could be toxic gas, Pele’s hair and rapid lava flows.
