Nicole Valdes joined FOX Weather in 2021 as a field correspondent based in Nashville, Tennessee. In this capacity, she covers breaking and developing weather-related news for the streaming service. Prior to joining FOX Weather, Valdes served as a reporter and fill-in anchor at KNXV-TV (ABC/Scripps) in Phoenix, Arizona where she covered breaking news, including the aftermath of the 2020 Election. While there, her exclusive report on car defects stemming from seven automakers led to an investigation by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and earned her a nomination for a Rocky Mountain Emmy. Previously, she worked as a multi-media journalist for WINK-TV (CBS) where she covered hurricanes battering the Gulf Coast for the Fort Myers, Florida station. Valdes attended the University of Florida in Gainesville, where she studied Telecommunications with a minor in Spanish.
