MIAMI – The development odds for Invest 95L swirling in the open Atlantic are continuing to increase, and the National Hurricane Center (NHC) now says the system will likely develop into Tropical Depression Ten on Tuesday.

The term "invest" is simply a naming convention used by the NHC to identify areas it is investigating for possible development into a tropical depression or tropical storm within the next seven days.

According to the latest outlook from the NHC, the showers and thunderstorms are continuing to become better organized in association with Invest 95L located about 1,000 miles to the east of the Windward Islands.

If those trends continue, the NHC said advisories will likely be initiated on Tropical Depression Ten later Tuesday.

The NHC said the area of low pressure is expected to move quickly to the west-northwest across the central tropical Atlantic and then move near or north of the northern Leeward Islands on Thursday and Friday.

Those with interests in the islands are being urged to monitor the evolving situation.

This comes after an extremely busy period of the 2025 Atlantic hurricane season, with the development of hurricanes Imelda and Humberto over the past few weeks.
