Will Tropical Storm Isaias cancel weekend events in the Southeast? Here's what to know

From college football to festivals and concerts, see which events are still scheduled to happen this weekend and which are canceled.

Tropical Storm Isaias is set to rapidly intensify into a hurricane before making landfall in the southeastern U.S. on Friday as a Category 2 hurricane.

Events all over the Gulf coast from Tallahassee to Nashville could be impacted by the dangerous hurricane.

Let's take a look at the status of some of the largest events planned for the weekend:

Festivals and outdoor events

CANCELED: 

Festa Italiana in Pensacola was canceled and rebooked for November due to the incoming storm.

"New dates, new location, same wonderful celebration of Italian food, culture and community. Mark your calendars and spread the word!" the event said on their Facebook page.

WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A HURRICANE MAKING A DIRECT HIT AND LANDFALL?

The National Shrimp Festival in Gulf Shores, Alabama, was also canceled for the weekend. The event page said organizers made every attempt they could to continue with the festival, but due to the forecast of high winds, dangerous surf and heavy rain, they had to cancel for the safety of everyone involved.

STILL ON:

Over in Mobile, Alabama, the LoDa Artwalk is forecast to continue as planned on Friday. This event, which happens monthly, is a free showcase of visual and performance arts.

Another event, the Pensacola Beach Songwriter's Festival in Florida, is also set to continue as planned. The event ends on Sunday after two weeks, and features musicians and songwriters who perform across Pensacola and Pensacola Beach.

FUTURE HURRICANE ISAIAS TRACKER: STORM PATH, FORECAST CONE, SPAGHETTI MODELS, WIND AND FLOOD THREAT

Dermot Kennedy is expected to play at Ascend Amphitheater in Nashville on Sunday, as the storm moves into the U.S. post-landfall. Heavy rain is forecast in Nashville, and could impact the entirely outdoor event.

Rock band Phish is also set to take the stage at Orion Amphitheater in Huntsville, Alabama, at 7 p.m. on Saturday.

Jubilee Music Festival III in Tallahassee, Florida, is still scheduled for Saturday night. The event features Tye Tribbett with special guests at The Adderley Amphitheater at Cascades Park.

TIMELINE: WHERE TROPICAL STORM ISAIAS IS HEADED AND WHEN IT COULD BECOME A HURRICANE

The National Fried Chicken Festival on the New Orleans Lakefront is planned for the entire weekend, rain or shine. The festival was originally scheduled for Oct. 2 through 4, but was rebooked to this weekend due to severe weather and flood advisories.

The Crescent City Blues and BBQ Festival is also scheduled to take place all weekend in New Orleans' Lafayette Square Park. The event is free and open to the public and features live music, delicious food and unique art. The event has not been canceled or rescheduled at this time.

Gentilly Fest, celebrating New Orleans' Gentilly neighborhood, is still scheduled for this weekend in Pontchartrain Park. The event is free and features live music, local restaurants and caterers, and fine arts and crafts for sale.

FUTURE HURRICANE ISAIAS COULD REVIVE A NAME TIED TO A DEADLY TORNADO LEGACY

Oktoberfest at Deutsches Haus in New Orleans is also expected to kick off this weekend. The event runs on Fridays and Saturdays starting Oct. 9 through Oct. 24.

College football 

Vanderbilt University will take on Ole Miss in Nashville on Sunday. The FOX Weather ROWI (Risk of Weather Impact) gives the game a high chance of being impacted by weather.

One of the biggest match-ups in college football is also set to happen this weekend when the Georgia Bulldogs play the Alabama Crimson Tide on Saturday night. The game has a medium ROWI.

Athletics officials said they are closely monitoring the forecast, and kickoff currently remains scheduled for 6:30 p.m.

HOW TO WATCH FOX WEATHER

A few other college games will be happening, including when the South Carolina Gamecocks play the Florida Gators in Gainsville, Florida, on Saturday afternoon.
