Tornado Watch issued for threat of evening storms over Kansas
The greatest threat of hail, damaging winds and tornadoes are in eastern Kansas counties into central and south-central parts of the state

Tornado Watch issued for portions of Kansas until 11pm CT on Thursday evening. Hail has the potential to be 3 inches in diameter.
Strong to severe storms developed Thursday across Missouri and meteorologists warned it could be precursor of what the Plains could experience over the next couple of days.
Further development of storms is expected from the Midwest into the Plains ahead of an advancing warm front, which caused the Storm Prediction Center to issue a Tornado Watch much of central Kansas through the late evening hours.

Storms will be capable of producing hail, damaging winds and isolated tornadoes.
Meteorologists warn some of the hail could be large and measure upwards of 3 inches in diameter.
The National Weather Service issued several Tornado Warnings north of Springfield, Missouri during the early evening hours, where hail was caught on camera pelting the ground.

POWERFUL STORM COULD BRING SEVERE WEATHER, BLIZZARD CONDITIONS TO PLAINS STARTING FRIDAY
The National Weather Service said more severe storms look to erupt Friday along and just ahead of a strong cold front and dryline propagating east through the Great Plains late in the day.
One or two squall lines could develop across parts of the Central Plains by the afternoon, posing a risk for hail and damaging wind gusts. Additional thunderstorm activity spreading north of the lower and mid-Missouri Valley into portions of the upper Midwest might pose a risk for large hail as well.
