Severe storms, flooding threaten same areas slammed just a week ago across 1,000-mile stretch

Another round of severe storms threatens New York to the Plains
Another round of severe storms is expected Wednesday from New York to the central Plains. The storms could bring powerful wind gusts, heavy rain and flooding. A Level 2 out of 5 severe weather risk has been issued across parts of Ohio, Pennsylvania and New York.
Another round of severe weather will develop Wednesday along a 1,000-mile stretch from Upstate New York to the Central Plains.
A strong area of low pressure will continue to move across the Canadian Prairies, with its associated cold front, triggering another round of strong to severe thunderstorms.
Rain and rumbles of thunder will stretch from Kansas to Maine, according to the FOX Forecast Center.

According to the FOX Forecast Center, storms will develop along the length of the cold front, with wind gusts over 60 mph expected to be the main concern with the strongest storms.
However, a corridor of more significant severe weather could develop across western New York if enough atmospheric energy builds.

NOAA's Storm Prediction Center has issued a Level 2 out of 5 severe weather risk across parts of northeast Ohio, northwest Pennsylvania and western New York, areas that were impacted by last week's severe weather.

By Thursday, storms will shift slightly south as the front brings wet weather to the Mid-Atlantic, central Appalachians and Ohio Valley.
Cities across the region should also be aware of the potential for flooding as deep tropical moisture is pulled north from the Gulf of Mexico.
A Level 2 out of 4 flood risk has been issued for parts of Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.

Severe weather is not expected to be a major concern Thursday, aside from a few storms capable of producing 50 to 60 mph wind gusts.
But, the combination of deep tropical moisture, the cold front and upslope flow in the mountains will likely trigger numerous thunderstorms.
