A massive, life-threatening heat dome is settling over parts of the Central U.S. before spreading eastward Wednesday. More than 230 million people will see temperatures above 90 degrees, while more than 41 million will experience triple-digit heat at some point from midweek through the holiday weekend. Meanwhile, parts of the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast will likely see 100-degree temperatures by Thursday, with nighttime lows remaining in the 80s.
