Multiple rounds of severe storms to race through the Plains this week
Severe storms raced through parts of Kansas and Missouri early Monday, producing powerful wind gusts. Thunderstorms are expected to redevelop over Colorado's Front Range and the Central Plains later Monday afternoon. Parts of Colorado east of Denver, as well as southwestern Nebraska and northwestern Kansas are under a Level 2 out of 5 risk of severe thunderstorms, according to NOAA. More rounds of severe storms will roll through the Plains this week, with Gulf moisture fueling heavy rain to produce flash flood threats from the Big Bend in Texas to the Canadian border in North Dakota.
