A new study ranks the best states to live in across the country, and some of the states in the top 10 might surprise you.
The study, published by WalletHub, took into consideration a number of factors, including affordability, economy, education, health and quality of life.

1. Idaho
Idaho ranked first place for its low real estate taxes, making it high on the list of affordability.
The state also boasted low violent crime rates and a high economic ranking.

New Jersey nabbed second place on the list, for its high income, low-median debt and high safety ranking.
Additionally, the Garden State reportedly has lower-than-average poverty and food insecurity.

3. Wisconsin
In third place is Wisconsin.
The state grabbed third place because of its affordable housing, high education, health ranking and high safety ranking.

4. Massachusetts
Massachusetts has the highest health and education ranking on the list.
The state also has high safety rankings, a high quality of life rank and a great economy rank on the list.

5. New Hampshire
New Hampshire's economy, health, education and safety scores helped it be the fifth-best state to live in.
While a little lower on the affordability and quality of life, ranking at 40th and 36th, respectively, New Hampshire still has a lot to offer.

6. Wyoming
Wyoming was the sixth-best state to live in.

7. Utah
Another state full of geological beauty, Utah, was also in the top 10.
Utah got a very high affordability score and health and education score, which helped push it to number seven on the list.

8. Minnesota
Wisconsin's neighbor snagged eighth place on the list.
Minnesota had the second-highest health and education score behind Massachusetts and was also pretty high on the list for quality of life and affordability.

9. Pennsylvania
Pennsylvania also earned a spot in the top 10 at number nine.
This state falls pretty middle-of-the-road in most categories, ranking in the 20s and 30s, but its quality of life and safety rankings both helped send it to the top.

10. Florida
The Sunshine State took 10th place for best states to live in.
Florida earned third place for quality of life and 11th for safety. Its economy rank was also relatively high at 17.
