1 killed, 4 injured after Fourth of July boat crash in Oregon

Officials said it appears the boat struck a portion of an aluminum walkway extending to a dock, which was anchored by several large vertical pilings.

OREGON - One person was killed, and four others were injured after a boat crashed in Multnomah County, Oregon, on the Fourth of July.

According to law enforcement, emergency crews responded to reports of a 3-foot cabin cruiser that had run ashore on the Willamette River. The vessel was found near Northwest Gillihan Road on Sauvie Island.

The Sauvie Island Fire Department, American Medical Response and the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office all responded to the scene.

Law enforcement said that when crews arrived, they found one woman dead at the scene. The four other individuals, including the boat’s operator, were transported to nearby hospitals with injuries.

Officials have not released any additional details about the victims or their conditions.
