Spokesperson for Entergy Arkansas Brandi Hinkle says her state has seen major outages Thursday as freezing rain has clung to tree limbs and brought down power lines.
A winter storm moving across the Central U.S. on Thursday is again creating icy scenes across the region.
Sleet, freezing rain and snow have been reported from Texas northeast to Illinois, while mainly snow is being reported across the Northern Plains.
One of the places hardest hit by ice has been Arkansas. People there have been sharing images of snapped trees and downed power lines on social media.
In places like Missouri, Oklahoma and Texas, images and videos of crashes and treacherous roads are more common.

The storm is forecast to spread into the Midwest and eventually the Northeast before exiting the country by the weekend.
