Teen dies after tree falls on car during severe weather in Michigan

As of early Thursday morning, 110,000 customers in Michigan were still without power following Wednesday night's damaging winds

A 17-year-old driver died after severe storms caused a tree branch to fall onto his car in Cass County, Michigan, Wednesday afternoon.

Video not far from the crash scene showed winds stronger than 60 mph snapping tree branches.

NOAA's Storm Prediction Center received dozens of reports of downed trees and power lines due to the strong winds.

Wind gusts of hurricane force were reported in neighboring Illinois.
