Former firefighter remembers trying to save community during Hurricane Harvey

JR Atkins, a former firefighter and first responder was trying to save his community in Missouri City, Texas during Hurricane Harvey by boating through his neighborhood and performing rescues. Atkins was not anticipating he would be the one who needed saving. He contracted a deadly “flesh-eating” bacteria.
