Severe storms target the South, Southern Plains in final days of severe weather marathon
A final round of severe weather is expected to erupt across eastern Oklahoma and the Ark-La-Tex region Tuesday afternoon. This marks the sixth consecutive day of at least a Level 3 out of 5 risk of severe thunderstorms for the Central U.S. and the South. Large hail will be the main threat Tuesday for the Ark-La-Tex, with hailstones larger than 2 inches in diameter possible. The Dallas and Shreveport, Louisiana, metro areas are included in this hail threat. Tornadoes will be possible with any supercell thunderstorms that form along a cold front draped over parts of Oklahoma and Arkansas. Storms will shift east over Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee and Georgia through the evening.
