Snow a welcome sight for Colorado ski resorts

A strong cold front moved through Colorado late Sunday into early Monday, dropping temperatures across the state and bringing snow to the mountains.

While it was only a dusting, Colorado ski resorts couldn't help but get excited when snow fell Monday morning.

Many shared their excitement on social media.

People weren't the only ones that were delighted …

A strong cold front moved through Colorado late Sunday into early Monday, dropping temperatures across the state and bringing snow to the mountains.

While there wasn't enough to make fresh tracks, resorts will soon start making their own snow.

Loveland says that the end of the month is when they will officially turn on their snow machines to start cranking out the white stuff.

As for when the ski resorts open, that varies. Here are when chairs will start turning for some of the top resorts this season:

  • Arapahoe Basin: October (TBD on conditions)
  • Aspen: November 25
  • Breckenridge: November 12
  • Copper: December 22
  • Keystone: October (TBD on conditions)
  • Loveland: Late October
  • Steamboat: November 20
  • Vail: November 12
  • Winter Park: November 17

Just hang tight, skiers and riders. There will be fresh pow soon enough.
