Hot on Hurricane Lowell’s heels, Invest 96E emerges as the Pacific’s next potential tropical threat

Another batch of severe storms is brewing in the Pacific, with newly designated Invest 96E trailing behind Hurricane Lowell, Karina and Marie as the next tropical threat.
So far this season, there have been 15 named storms, including six hurricanes.
Invest 96E was designated on Tuesday afternoon and has a high chance of developing into a tropical depression over the next few days.

Rain and thunderstorm activity is becoming more organized in relation to an elongated area of low pressure several hundred miles south of the Baja California peninsula.
There is an 80% chance of tropical development over the next two days, according to the NOAA.

"Current long-range forecasts have this system continue to move east and potentially in the direction of Hawaii, but that is over a week and a half away," the FOX Forecast Center said. "There is plenty of time for forecasts to change and evolve. "
