Critical fire danger for southern California Sunday

Fire Weather Warnings will be in place through Monday.

Strong winds over southern California will increase the risk for fire danger Sunday.

Los Angeles and Ventura Counties could see wind gusts upwards of 55 mph, with other locations seeing near 60 mph gusts on Sunday.

Warm temperatures will also be present, where some parts of the valley and coastal regions could see highs in the middle 80s.

Dry air will also move into the region, dropping humidity values.

With the warm air, dry conditions and gusty winds, critical fire weather conditions will be in place for much of Los Angeles and Ventura Counties. Fire Weather Warnings will be present for the mountains of Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo Counties.

Officials urge residents to use extra caution and avoid any activity that could spark a fire.
