BOWLING GREEN, Ky. -- Officials reported at least 11 dead in the southern Kentucky town of Bowling Green where an EF-3 tornado ripped through the area with estimated winds of around 150 mph during the overnight hours of Saturday morning.
The Warren County Coroner told affiliate WKBO that 11 casualties were storm-related deaths.
Local media reported that number had increased to 12 on Sunday.
The National Weather Service Office in Louisville surveyed damage during the daylight hours and estimated that winds reached at least 150 mph.

Several homes and businesses were damaged throughout the town, including the National Corvette Museum Motorsports Park.
The NCM Motorsports Park reported the track area sustained significant damage, and all events were canceled until further notice.

The EF-3 tornado that struck the southern Kentucky town was one of dozens that were reported during the December outbreak that impacted six states.
The Governor said he feared Kentucky’s death toll could top 100 victims.
