Atmospheric river could bring dangerous flooding, additional feet of snow to California

A strong atmospheric river event begins Thursday evening, lasting through the weekend. The high pressure that has been dominating the Eastern Pacific is expected to break down as a large low off the coast of the Pacific Northwest and another low near Hawaii work in tandem to break down the high pressure. This will allow for a river of atmospheric moisture to impact the entire West Coast, peaking on Friday.
