Rain in Plains brings much-needed drought relief

The trailing portion of the front bringing rain to the Heartland will remain nearly stationary across the Southern Plains through Saturday. This will keep the threat of heavy rain in place into Saturday. This rain is desperately needed, as drought has taken hold over the Plains; unfortunately too much rain in too little time could lead to flooding, some of which could be significant.
