Sprawling midweek storm to bring snow to 25 states across lake-effect regions through Appalachians
The next round of winter weather ramps up this week. It all gets started on Tuesday as a traditional clipper moves through the Great Lakes. Behind the clipper, some snow showers may develop across parts of the Ohio Valley including West Virginia. The primary lake-effect snow impacts will likely focus on Lake Michigan. Winter Storm Warnings have been issued for parts of Indiana Wednesday through Thursday. The storm will move over the southern Appalachians on Wednesday, and confidence remains high that a moderate amount of snow will fall in the higher terrain from the Tennessee–North Carolina border northward into West Virginia, especially along the highest peaks of the Appalachians.
