Atmospheric River research flights are going global this year
53rd Weather Recon Squadron Pilot Captain Nate Wordal joined FOX Weather from Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Mississippi to discuss a new initiative that is pushing the limits to collect data that satellites can't obtain. Starting this year, the Hurricane Hunters are expanding atmospheric river research flights deep into the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans to collect data and expand research opportunities in an effort to make forecasting more reliable.
