Dangerous severe weather to reignite over more than 55M across the Plains and the South
Severe storms are forecast to reignite over more than 55 million people across the South and parts of Oklahoma and Texas on Friday. That's after Thursday's destructive outbreak produced nearly 50 Tornado Warnings across the Central Plains. Severe thunderstorms are expected to first develop across eastern Oklahoma and Arkansas Friday afternoon, with large hail and damaging wind gusts being the primary hazards. These storms are expected to shift east through the evening. NOAA's Storm Prediction Center (SPC) has issued a Level 2 out of 5 risk of severe thunderstorms for East Texas, southeastern Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, and Mississippi.
