Heavy rain targets Northeast after weeks of dry weather

After weeks of dry weather, rain is returning to the Northeast and is expected to continue through Saturday. Rounds of rainfall and thunderstorms are expected, potentially bringing more than an inch of rain to parts of the region. While the rain could provide much-needed relief, localized downpours may trigger minor flooding, with a flash flood threat in place.
