Atmospheric river to bring heavy rain, snow and 20-foot waves to Pacific Northwest
Light rain is forecast for much of the Pacific Northwest Wednesday ahead of a more powerful atmospheric river that is set to slam into the region later this week and into the weekend. Forecasts suggest that the bulk of the precipitation and most intense portion of the atmospheric river may actually shift further south and impact Southern Oregon and Northern California. Cities such as San Francisco, Eureka, California and Medford, OR may see some impacts into Saturday and Sunday. By the end of the week, some parts of Washington could see between 5 and 8 inches of rain.
