Weather won't be enough to help Eagles defeat Buccaneers on Thursday Night Football

Tampa Bay is looking to win its third straight game, while Philly is aiming to win in back-to-back weeks for the first time this season.

Thursday Night Football is back on FOX for the second straight week as the defending Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers travel to Philadelphia to take on the Eagles.

Tampa Bay (4-1) is looking to win its third straight game, while Philly (2-3) is aiming to win in back-to-back weeks for the first time this season.

It's forecast to be right around 70 degrees at game time with winds around 5 mph, and the sky will be clear of precipitation in Philadelphia.

Since this game will be airing on FOX at 8:20 p.m. Eastern, we'll be looking at how these teams have performed historically in these weather conditions and making a prediction.

GAME: Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Philadelphia Eagles – 8:20 p.m. Eastern on FOX

The weather will be perfect in Philadelphia Thursday night, as it will feel like a summer night and not mid-October. Around kickoff, it's forecast to be 72 degrees with winds around 5 mph. When playing in games in which the temperature was 72 degrees, Tampa Bay hasn't been very good, holding a 31-53 record, while the Eagles have performed better with a 52-42-1 record.

When the winds are 5 mph, once again the Buccaneers seem to underperform with a 54-76 record, while the Eagles seem to do pretty well, holding a 66-55-1 record. Precipitation will not play a factor, as there's a 0% chance of rain. Historically, that's usually a good sign for the Eagles, who have a 94-81-2 record when there's a 0% chance of precipitation, while Tampa Bay seems to fall flat as they hold a 69-83 record.

PICK: The Eagles have a slight weather edge, but after running through the SportsWeather metrics and algorithms and looking at the talent on the roster and meshing that with the weather, it is not nearly enough for a win over Tampa Bay.
