🐊 TRESPASSER: An alligator found itself in trouble with the law after it trespassed into the backyard of a residence in Florida this week, as police and wildlife officials were able to relocate the animal safely.
MANATEE COUNTY, Fla. – It was just another day in the office for a sheriff in Manatee County, Florida, after they responded to a call about an alligator in a backyard.
Video footage shared by the Manatee Sheriff's Office shows the large gator, about 4 to 5 feet long, lying in a backyard, showing little concern for the law enforcement surrounding it.
One officer tried to slowly move the gator by using a thin piece of material to urge it forward while waiting for Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission (FWC) officers.

"Yeah, this is a job for a trapper," one officer said on body camera footage.

Eventually, a FWC trapper arrived at the scene and, with help from officers, wrangled the large reptile to reel it in and prepare for a safe extraction.

Thanks to the careful, coordinated efforts of the sheriff's office and FWC, the alligator was relocated.
