Tailgating at Big 12 Championship? Weather will favor OSU, Baylor fans

For college football fans making the trip to The Lone Star State, tailgating temperatures will hover near 70 degrees under partly sunny skies by kickoff

ARLINGTON, Texas – A coveted spot in the College Football Playoffs could be on the line Saturday as the No. 5 Oklahoma State Cowboys take on the No. 9 Baylor Bears in the Big 12 Championship.

Kickoff is set for 11 a.m. Central at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

For college football fans making the trip to The Lone Star State, tailgating temperatures will hover near 70 degrees under partly sunny skies by kickoff.

Oklahoma State is favored to win by more than 4.5 points. If they do win, and at least one of the top four teams loses this weekend, FOX Sports reports the Cowboys could punch their ticket to the CFP.

Earlier this year, OSU beat the Bears 24-14 at home on Oct. 2.

FOX Sports' Jason McIntyre is leaning towards Baylor.

"Always give me the underdog in the rematch plus the off-the-rivalry win spot for the Cowboys — but the under is my best bet in this game," McIntyre said. "It's tough to back Baylor here, given the uncertainty at quarterback. Dual-threat starter Gerry Bohanon is nursing a hamstring injury and hasn't played since leaving the win over Kansas State on Nov. 20."

McIntyre said the likely starter is freshman Blake Shapen.

"He was a more highly touted baseball recruit than football, and he's playing both at Baylor," McIntyre said. "And on the other side, you have the up-and-down Spencer Sanders. The safe move is to play the under."

At 22-18, OSU leads the all-time series.
