7 scenes: The damage left behind by system's cross-country trek

Dangerous and destructive storms swept across the Gulf Coast states this week.

Severe storms woke up residents of Springdale, Arkansas during the early morning hours on Wednesday when what is believed to be an EF-3 tornado tore through town.

Several businesses and homes were destroyed as the twister traveled over five miles through neighborhoods. Drone footage shows bedrooms open to the sky because the roofs and walls no longer exist.

FOX Weather's Robert Ray arrived just after sunrise and found a warehouse the size of a football field twisted and ruined and trucks toppled.
