The bridge is located at NW 74th Place and NW 48th Avenue in Hillsboro Pines, a suburb of Fort Lauderdale. The collapse was discovered Thursday.

"Initial assessments indicate the collapse may be linked to the deterioration of two culverts beneath the bridge. Recent heavy rainfall may have worsened existing conditions," the division said in a news release.
