The next wave of moisture associated with a Pacific front is forecast to reach the Pacific Northwest on Friday with heavy rain and snow mainly across western Washington.
SEATTLE – The next wave of moisture associated with a Pacific cold front is forecast to reach the Northwest on Friday with heavy rain and snow, mainly across western Washington.
The cold front is forecast to move onshore and slide across the western U.S. during the weekend. On Saturday, it'll bring heavy rain and mountain snow over parts of the Washington and Oregon Cascades and California's Sierra Nevada.
On Sunday, moderate to heavy snow will spread across the high elevations of the Rockies and the Intermountain West.
A strong surface low-pressure system will begin dumping heavy snow and high winds on Monday over parts of the central Rockies foothills, making for treacherous travel conditions. This includes the Denver metro area.
The West remains locked in severe drought with only a month or so of their wet season remaining, so any additional rain and snow are sorely needed.
