Hawaii on alert Thursday as fires could rapidly spread due to high winds

A combination of strong winds, low relative humidities and dry fuels will contribute to extreme fire weather conditions over the leeward portions of all the Hawaiian Islands on Thursday. Fire Weather Warnings are currently in effect for all of the leeward sides of each Hawaiian Island. Wind gusts as high as 50 mph and humidity as low as 40 to 45 percent are possible in these areas
