Heavy rain pouring down on Carolinas from Potential Tropical Cyclone 8

The National Hurricane Center has initiated advisories for Potential Tropical Cyclone Eight near the Carolina coast. The system may become Tropical Storm Helene and move into the Carolinas later Monday. Regardless of its designation, tropical downpours, gusty winds and dangerous beach conditions are all expected before the system gradually moves up into the mid-Atlantic.
