Potential Tropical Cyclone 8 to bring heavy rain, flooding to Carolinas

The National Hurricane Center has initiated advisories for Potential Tropical Cyclone Eight near the Carolina Coast. The system will likely become Tropical Storm Helene and move into the Carolinas over the next 24 hours. Tropical downpours, gusty winds and dangerous beach conditions are all expected before the system gradually moves up into the mid-Atlantic.
