Approaching storm could dump mix of heavy snow, rain around Denver area

A storm system draped across the Rockies Saturday is expected to bring periods of rain and snow to the Denver area, with around 1-3 inches of snow. However, heavier snows are forecast south of Denver along the Palmer Divide where the elevation is 1,000-2,000 feet higher than the Mile High City.
