Rising crawfish prices due to recent drought in Louisiana
Louisiana farmers are worried about the upcoming crawfish harvest season, as it could be the worst on record. The shortage is a result of drought, excessive heat and recent cold fronts. Due to the limited supply, prices have more than doubled per pound. The harvesting season usually lasts from December to June, with peak months during springtime. However, the situation this year is not promising. To help people keep track of the prices of crawfish across Louisiana and the Gulf Coast, the Crawfish App has been launched. Laney King, co-founder of the app, joins FOX Weather, to provide us with more details on how it works.
