Northern tier to see several days of heavy snow

Much of the northern Plains and Upper Midwest will see several days of snow to end the week thanks to a strengthening area of low pressure. A widespread 5-8"+ is likely from the Dakotas through Minnesota and the Upper Midwest, with some locally higher accumulations.
