Potential for dangerous severe storms from East Texas to Lower Mississippi Valley starting Tuesday
A potent large-scale dip in the jet stream will eject out of the Rockies and into the Plains on Tuesday. As this occurs, strong southerly winds will develop and transport unseasonably rich Gulf moisture northward across eastern Oklahoma and Texas into the Lower Mississippi Valley. High amounts of wind shear will accompany this moisture and these ingredients combined will lead to a significant severe weather threat. Strong, damaging winds, tornadoes and large hail all appear possible at this time.
