Around the northern and western edges of an ongoing heat dome, active thunderstorms, heavy rain, some flooding and severe weather are expected as above-average levels of moisture persist. Areas from the central Plains into the Great Lakes and Northeast will likely see the most active and widespread showers and thunderstorms over the next few days in the vicinity of a well-defined cold front pushing east.
