New York City prepares for nor'easter to keep water from entering subway
New York City is preparing for a late-season nor'easter, which will begin to take shape Wednesday night. MTA crews put down yellow trench covers over vented grates on streets, in an attempt to keep water from entering the subway. The Big Apple is in for the worst of it Thursday, with heavy rain and strong winds. As much as 1-2 inches of rain is expected with wind gusts to 30 mph. The nor'easter peaks in strength Thursday with steady, sometimes heavy rain from the NYC Tri-State area through New England.
