Kiko forecast to reach major hurricane status later this week
Hurricane Kiko, located about 1,600 miles to the east-southeast of Hawaii, is picking up steam in the open Pacific. Kiko formed into a category one hurricane early Tuesday morning and is now a category two storm. Kiko, traversing warm waters in an overall conducive environment, is forecast to intensify more and is now anticipated to reach at least category 3 strength by late Wednesday.
