Storms to soak millions across Eastern US into weekend; Deep South, Southeast face severe weather
Back-to-back cross-country storms will develop and push from the Four Corners into the Midwest, in quick succession, beginning Thursday bringing rounds of heavy rain and severe storms across the Central and southeastern US. Severe weather is possible ahead of the first of these storms Wednesday across parts of Oklahoma and Texas. Meanwhile, the threat increases and shifts east on Friday, covering more than 8 million people across portions of northeastern Louisiana, Mississippi, and western Tennessee. Days of heavy rain are expected across the Midwest as well as the Ohio, Tennessee and Mississippi valleys.
