Major damage is being reported around Mebane, N.C. associated with a severe thunderstorm that pushed through the region. The same storm has triggered Tornado Warnings north of Durham, N.C.

Video from Crossville, Tennessee shows hailstones pelting a home as severe weather pushes through the area.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in place until 10 p.m. ET along the east coast from northeast Florida to South Carolina.
Damaging wind gusts up to 70 mph are likely and scattered large hail up to 2 inches is possible.

A New Tornado Warning was just issued by the NWS for Abingdon, Brumley Gap and Wallace, Virginia until 5:15 p.m. ET.
People in the area should seek shelter now.
The NWS has issued Tornado Warnings until 5 p.m. for Edenton, North Carolina.
Bristol, Tennessee and Bristol and Abingdon, Virginia remain under a Tornado Warning until 5:15 p.m.
A new Tornado Warning has been issued for part of Pickens County, South Carolina until 4:45 p.m. ET.

Severe weather charging across the southeast and Mid-Atlantic has prompted nearly 30 active weather warnings. Nearly 3,000 lightning strikes have been recorded in the past 15 minutes.
Eastern Owsley and central Breathitt counties in Kentucky are under Tornado Warnings until 4:15 p.m.
More than 114,000 people in North Carolina are being told to shelter after the NWS issued a Tornado Warning in Lewisville, Bethania, Rural Hall and Tobaccoville until 3:45 p.m.
Another warning was also issued in Talbert, Kentucky.

The rain has started to pick up in Panama City Beach. Bay County remains under a Tornado Watch until 7 p.m.
A Tornado Watch has been issued for parts of North Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia until 10 p.m. EDT.
