Fourth firefighter dies from injuries caused by now extinguished Knowles wildfire in Utah and Colorado
The firefighter had been receiving care for burn injuries suffered during the incident.

Large plumes of smoke cover the sky across portions of the Southwest U.S., as wildfires spread across Colorado and Utah, claiming the lives of three firefighters recently. FOX News Correspondent Max Gorden shares the latest:
A fourth firefighter has died due to the now extinguished Knowles wildfire near the Colorado-Utah border.
On July 24 Nathan Matthews, 43, of the Wildland Fire Service of Lincoln, Nebraska died from injuries he sustained while responding to the Knowles Fire on June 27.

According to the U.S. Department of the Interior, "Nate was assigned to the Rifle Helitack crew and was one of five firefighters involved in a burnover while engaged in initial attack operations on the Knowles Fire."
Three other firefighters – Emily Barker, 38 of Clinton Township, Michigan, Nick Hutcherson, 27, of Glendale, Arizona and Sydney Watson, 27, of Warrior, Alabama – died at the scene.

Nate had been receiving care for burn injuries suffered during the incident.
The Knowles fire merged with nearby blazes and become the Snyder fire. After burning nearly 30,000 acres, the fire had been 100% contained.
