Northern, Central Plains in bullseye of large hail and tornado threat as multiday even begins
Tuesday marks the beginning of a multiday severe weather threat expected to affect more than 120 million people across the Northern Plains and Upper Midwest. A Level 3 out of 5 risk of severe thunderstorms covers parts of Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota and Nebraska, where supercell thunderstorms capable of generating large hail, damaging wind gusts and tornadoes could develop by Tuesday afternoon.
